General Accommodation Information

• ❓ I cannot check in for accommodation at my reserved Check-in time. What should I do?

If, for objective and verifiable reasons (e.g. illness), you are unable to arrive at your reserved time and the Check-in reservation can no longer be changed, please proceed as follows:

• • • no later than 10:00 on the day of your planned arrival, inform the accommodation officer or building manager of the relevant building by email,
    • arrange an alternative date for taking over the accommodation place during office hours.

In such a case, your bed will remain reserved. The condition is that the first accommodation fee (accommodation advance payment) has been paid and credited in ISKAM.

• ❓ What happens if I fail to check in without prior notice?

If you fail to check in at your reserved time without prior notice:

• • • you will be automatically removed from the waiting list,
    • you will lose your entitlement to the allocated bed,
    • the reservation deposit will be forfeited in full,
    • the Accommodation Agreement will terminate on the day following the planned check-in date.

If you have already paid the first accommodation fee (accommodation advance payment), the proportionate amount for the period up to the termination of the Accommodation Agreement will not be refunded.

• ❓ Is accommodation for mixed-gender couples possible?

Yes, but only under certain conditions.

• • • accommodation for mixed-gender couples is possible only if separate double rooms are available,
    • each partner must, on the day they submit their accommodation application in ISKAM, also send a separate request for shared accommodation to koleje-u7@utb.cz,
    • HRR will allocate a shared room according to the current availability of separate double rooms and each student’s position on the waiting list.

How are applications assessed?

Requests for shared accommodation are processed in accordance with the Accommodation Rules and according to each applicant’s position on the waiting list. Requests for shared accommodation are not given priority, and HRR cannot guarantee that all couples can be accommodated together.

In which buildings is shared accommodation possible?

Shared accommodation for mixed-gender couples is possible only in:

• • • Max32,
    • Hotel Garni,
    • MSI (double rooms with shared bathroom facilities on the floor).

• ❓ Is it possible to extend my accommodation for the summer holidays?

If you plan to stay in accommodation during the summer holidays, you must apply for an extension no later than 30 April of the current academic year.

U6, U7 and U12 Halls of Residence and Hotel Garni

• • • Submit your request by email to the accommodation officer or building manager of the relevant building.
    • Accommodation may be extended up to 31 August, but always only until the end of a calendar month.
    • If the request is approved, you must sign a numbered amendment to the Accommodation Agreement.

MSI External Accommodation Facility

• • • A request for summer accommodation must also be submitted no later than 30 April.
    • The request must be sent by email to recepce@msi-zlin.cz.

Please note that an extension of accommodation depends on the current availability of beds.

• ❓ If all beds are currently occupied, does this mean that I will no longer receive accommodation?

No. Even when the current bed capacity is fully occupied, waiting lists continue to be processed and updated on an ongoing basis. However, movement on the waiting list is usually slower and depends mainly on beds gradually becoming available.

A bed may become available, for example, if a student:

• • • arranges their own accommodation,
    • starts studying outside Zlín,
    • terminates or interrupts their studies at TBU or changes their form of study,
    • does not receive a visa,
    • cancels their application or reservation for another reason.

Available beds are then offered to other students according to their position on the waiting list and the conditions set out in the Detailed Accommodation Rules.
