Information for students on catering restrictions during the reconstruction

The canteen of the central canteen of UTB Zlín on Univerzita Street is currently undergoing a complete reconstruction. This is mainly due to the obsolescence of the technical equipment. The existing technologies of the catering equipment no longer correspond to modern operational and technical requirements, therefore a new concept of catering operation has been designed, which will significantly speed up the check-in of customers and enable greater automation of the operation with more efficient use of space and staff
Due to the unplanned postponement of the construction works until October 2023, it is necessary to modify the operations of the existing catering operations as follows:
In the U4 University Canteen there will be:
In the U13 restaurant there will be:
- increased seating capacity to 200, in the restaurant and in the adjacent 1st floor area,
- the possibility to buy packaged food at the collection point next to the restaurant (existing cloakroom),
- extended opening hours for lunch from 10 am to 3 pm.
- We recommend preferential use by FHS, FT and Rectorate employees.
At Hotel Garni there will be:
- the possibility of dining in the restaurant with a capacity of 60 seats and the use of the lounge on the second floor with a seating capacity of 45,
- extended opening hours for lunch from 10:30 am to 2 pm.
- We recommend preferential use by FAME, CPS, UNI and FT employees.
The cafeteria in the U2 building will be:
- Increased number of hot meal portions,
- extended opening hours until 3pm.
- We recommend preferential use by FAME, CPS and UNI employees.
In the Canteen in building U5 there will be:
- Increased number of hot meal portions,
- extended opening hours until 3pm.
- We recommend preferential use by FAI and FT employees.
During the renovation period, the selection of hot meals will be limited to only three options.
From the beginning of September through the end of October, packaged meals will be sold in all dining locations without payment for packaging (meals will already be packaged for faster check-in of diners).
To ensure smooth operations, students are asked to vacate their seats as soon as possible after consumption.
